Retrotouch adds Control4 integration to Friends of Hue kinetic switches

Retrotouch has introduced Control4 integration to its Friends of Hue kinetic switches, enabling scene control without wiring, batteries or back boxes.

The switches use a dedicated driver to connect with Control4 via the Philips Hue Bridge, allowing integrators to trigger programmed scenes including lighting, AV, climate and whole-home functions.

This approach delivers keypad-style functionality while reducing the need for hardwired Control4 installations.

Self-powered by kinetic energy harvesting, the switches are particularly suited to retrofit projects where cabling is impractical – including heritage properties and glass or stone surfaces.

The integration supports straightforward setup for installers through Control4 Composer and eliminates the maintenance associated with battery-powered devices.

The switches do not replace Control4 keypads but expand where Control4 can be deployed.

Use cases include secondary switching points, audio playback or volume, and scene controls in locations that would otherwise require significant installation work.

Retrotouch’s Friends of Hue switches with Control4 integration are available now in the UK.
