Sonos shares exclusive look at Amp Multi during London event with Habitech

Sonos brought its new Amp Multi directly to UK integrators at a two-day launch event on March 3-4.

Hosted by UK distributor, Habitech, the showcase featured half-day sessions tailored to integrators at Material Source studio in Farringdon.

Attendees experienced the Amp Multi first-hand through live demonstrations and interactive technical training.

The gathering offered insight into how the product can support more scalable residential audio installations ahead of its wider availability through installation partners later this year.

The sessions were led by Stephen Rhead, professional manager for UK and Ireland at Sonos, and Zanis Mantarikis, senior manager of product marketing.

Zanis played an active role in the creation of Amp Multi during R&D and planning phases, and he flew over specially from the US to share his expertise.

Designed for the professional installation sector, Amp Multi expands the Sonos ecosystem to support multizone audio projects with a simple form factor.

Seymour Forsyth, managing director at integration firm Detail AV, said: “This long-awaited Sonos product for the custom install market promises to deliver more than the sum of its parts.

“It offers a cooler running, equally powerful and more compact alternative to traditional rack mounted individual Sonos Amps, or Ports feeding into a third party multi-channel amp.

“It also provides flexible assignable speaker outputs, Sonos’ ProTune parametric EQ and Zone features, along with the legacy alarm and sleep functions that have always worked best within a fully Sonos environment.”
